10 points! GPS problems?

I bought a GPS system for my car, a Magellan Roadmate 1200. It has many pre-programed maps in it. When I was prompted to enter in my home address, I was shocked to find that it did not accept it as existing. Am I entering it in wrong? Is there a certain way to input addresses into a GPS system? Do I need latitude/ longitude? I live in Union Square, Nova Scotia, Canada, just outside New Germany. It's kind of... in the woods, haha. Maybe it's just not programmed? I can edit more details into the question if anyone wants them. I'll give someone 10 points if they can totally help me figure it out. Help?10 points! GPS problems?
You can go to the Magellan website for support. There are 12-14 GPS satellites and there are always 2 in any given area. Check the RM by putting in an address you want to go to. If it works then it could be you're not inputting your address correctly or there's something wrong with the unit. I have never put in latitude/longitude and I've had 3 different Magellan's. Be sure to register it, you will get free updates. Website below:10 points! GPS problems?
Sometimes if you live on new roads or roads that don't get much traffic, they aren't added to the GPS system. There's nothing you can really do about that. I used to live on a new street and it wasn't on there either. I just set me 'Home' address to the nearest intersection to my house.
