How will the clunkers for cash effect the auto parts market?

Seems to me a whole lot of parts could be salvaged rather than just crush themHow will the clunkers for cash effect the auto parts market?
I reckon they'll be dormant for a few years now.
There are certain models/years they want off the roads because they are considered high polluters. Savaging parts off those that are turned in so that other people can keep those same models/years going longer would be counterproductive. They also have the cheapest and smallest car to ever be made coming out of Detroit in 2010 that will compete with used cars in sales. How will the clunkers for cash effect the auto parts market?
No effect. The stuff going to the bone yard are dinosaurs. How many people are really out there looking for a quarter-panel for a 1992 Dodge Caravan?

I got rid of a 1999 Chevy Astro.... needed a pinion bearing in the rear end, compressor for the air conditioner and new electric fuel pump (original one with 225,000 miles on it was still in the van.)

I was advertising it on Craig's List at $1,000. I got $4,500 plus a $2,000 rebate on the car. I got the car at the Costco member price which is dealer invoice (which I saw).
I recently read that the cash earmarked for the "clunker" program has run out, so the question may be moot. How will the clunkers for cash effect the auto parts market?
It is mandatory that cars have to be crushed.
Most likely sold to China after they are crushed. Then shipped back here.
That is the lib way,.....WASTE at the governments expense!!!
