A garbage man in Australia gets paid AU$100,000 per year (Which is like US$93,000), the average miner gets AU$150,000, whilst the average CEO in Australia only gets $120,000 per year.
And in the USA, a miner doesnt even get paid half that wage.

And the average Australian salary overall is $91,000.
But I got comments saying all Australians are mediocre because of that, But whats so wrong with mediocrity?
If that means sacrificing a tiny, tiny, tiny chance that I might be extremely, obscenely wealthy like some people are in the USA. And own islands and private jets. Then Im totally fine with that.
There's 401 billionaires in the USA, thats just crazy, Would you rather 1 billionaire or a 1000 millionaires?
So much of the wealth in the USA is concentrated among a few people.
I also read this comment:

"I'd rather have what the free market dictates. The fact that AU has a trash man making as much as a CEO says a lot about why AU doesn't lead the world in anything. You are all mediocre.
By the way, the middle-class in the US votes overwhelmingly Republican. Do you know why? Because Americans are an aspirational people. They don't settle for mediocrity like Australians."

I just want an $100k salary, a mercedes benz, a modern apartment in the city, and a comfortable life and go out every weekend. Whats wrong with mediocracy?
Would I really sacrifice that so that I have a really, really small chance that I might become obscenely wealthy??Republicans: What's wrong with mediocracy?
good to find one happy aussie...
A better question to have asked is, "What's good about mediocrity?"Republicans: What's wrong with mediocracy?
The USA is not Australia. We love you guys but we don't love your government. Nor ours for that matter.
yeah but you guys spend all your money on kangaroo insurance.Republicans: What's wrong with mediocracy?
Nothing's wrong with mediocrity for Australians if that's what they want. It's just not what we want and that goes for Democrats and Republicans.
Whose money pays that garbage man?
Yours.
I think if you didn't do well enough in school, or did not pursue higher education you should not be earning almost as much as a Doctor.
Undeserved pay encourages you to do the minimum for yourself rather than reach your [potential.
Don't they have anything worthwhile to talk about in Aus? Why are you constantly sticking your nose in OUR politics?
Want to make this place more like yours? WHY?
If I wanted to live like an Australian, I'd move there.
P.S. I was there for work and I HATED it.
