Auto dealer sold me a car without disclosing a salvage title?

I bought a car 2 1/2 months ago from a local dealer in the city i live. This is a GM certified dealership. At no point in the sales process or even when signing paperwork, was I told that the car has a salvage title. I know I was buying aq used car and that I should have asked for a carfax, but this is a dealership I had bought from before and so have others in my family. As far as I know, even if you don't ask for a carfax, they still have to disclose that the car has a salvage title. Am I right, or not? And even if they didn't mention it to me, no where in the paperwork does it say it has a salvage title. I feel very cheated and lied to at this point...I just got the title in the mail and that's how I found out it has a salvage title...it says "Salvage Title" in big red stamped ink. What can I do at this point since it's been 2 1/2 months since I bought the car? Do I have any kind of legal case?Auto dealer sold me a car without disclosing a salvage title?
You MIGHT have a legal case.



That is, if you hire an attorney and sue them, you might win and the dealer might have to give you your money back in exchange for the car.



Have you even ASKED the dealer for an adjustment or refund ?



Its possible they did not know.



I was a dealer for over 15 years and I was very careful to make sure any %26amp; all buyers knew a car was previous salvage if it was. I have it in writing.



Carfax has nothing to do with anything.



All that matters is in most states the seller IS suppose to notify the buyer. And most dealers would get something like that in writing.



Id ask for your money back or a price adjustment and if they refuse, send them a certified letter demanding a full refund and if that doesn't work, you can try contacting the dealer regulatory agency, That's a long shot though.



Bottom line is you have a good to decent chance of winning in court. You just may need an attorney to sue them depending on the cars value.



Most dealers know they will lose in court and would try to settle outside. However, if its a brand new dealer, they may not know better.



More info is needed. How much was the car ?



Have you registered it and bought a tag without issue ?

if you paid one half of the market value for the auto then you were not cheated. if you pd full price say 5000.00 and then you had a bad collision the first thing your ins co does is check for a clean title.if it is salvage and the repair estimate is close to 2500.00 they will total it out and you lose the balance.Auto dealer sold me a car without disclosing a salvage title?
Didn't you have to sign the original title when you bought it? It would also have been marked salvage. Probably they do have some responsibility to disclose the salvage title, though. It's worth looking into.
How many times are you going to ask?
